Chris Potterpin, President of the CARH, will discuss the latest legislative and regulatory issues impacting the affordable rural housing industry nationwide.
Ecto HR’s Christy Conn, Director of HR, and Randy Davison, Recruiting Manager, provide insights and guidance on how to hire the right employees and how to retain them.

This session will provide a moderated market update from a panel of affordable multifamily debt and equity providers. Get answers to your questions regarding changes in tax credit equity pricing and availability, debt interest rates and terms, and deal structuring changes.

11:50 am – 12:50 pm – HR Hiring & Retention
Ecto HR’s Christy Conn, Director of HR, and Randy Davison, Recruiting Manager, provide insights and guidance on how to hire the right employees and how to retain them. Since joining Ecto HR in 2008, Conn’s primary focus is on employee relations, training and development, and workplace investigations. Davidson has been with Ecto HR since 2018 leading the day-to-day recruiting function, including developing recruiting strategies, overseeing project assignments, identifying creative ways to find candidates, sourcing, and qualifying candidates.

Enjoy a plated lunch while hearing from Keynote Speaker, Sarah Lucas, Office of Rural Development Deputy Director at MDARD. In this role, Lucas supports the strategic needs of rural Michigan, including economic and workforce development, infrastructure, public health, and environmental sustainability.

Kelly Rose, Chief Housing Solutions Officer and Acting Chief Housing Investment Officer, shares updates on what’s new at MSHDA with regard to the QAP, LIHTC, direct lending, and other topics in MSHDA’s future.
3:20 – 3:45 pm – USDA – RD Update
USDA – RD’s Nancie-Ann Bodell, Deputy Administrator, shares agency updates and discusses topics previously submitted by MRDC attendees.
3:45 – 4:30 pm – CARH Update
Chris Potterpin, President of the Council for Affordable and Rural Housing (CARH) will discuss the latest legislative and regulatory issues impacting the affordable rural housing industry nationwide.
4:30 – 6:00 pm – Networking Reception
Enjoy Cocktails & Light Hors d’oeuvres on the Ballroom Terrace while networking with fellow MRDC members and representatives from MSHDA, RD, and CARH.
